Pakistan Cricket Board Reports More Than Rs 91 Crore In Earnings From Hosting Champions Trophy




Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) said it has won three billion PKR (RS 91 crore) welcoming the ICC champions trophy, exceeding its two billion rupees. The PCB request came in a written response to the National Assembly which expressed its concerns concerning the persistent underperformance of the national team in the past two years. The PCB in its written response also confirmed that a total of 18 billion rupees are spent to upgrade stages in Karachi, Lahore and Rawalpindi.

He said the full upgrade process would be completed by 2026 and that the second phase would start after the end of the Pakistan Super League in May.

The PCB has also said that there had been no budgetary overtaking so far due to the champions trophy and other problems.

“The PCB undergoes two audits per year, at the end of its exercise. The audits for the current financial year will take place after June 30, 2025,” confirmed the PCB.

He also said that the end figures for money earned by the Champions Trophy will be determined once the ICC has completed its financial audit.

The PCB insisted that there had not been excessive expenses or mismanagement, because the champions trophy was entirely managed by the ICC.

On the performance of the national team, the PCB response was to blame injuries and different playing conditions.
