Pedro Porro Rescues Ange Postecoglou As Tottenham Hotspur Held By Eintracht Frankfurt

Angel Postcoglou’s offer to end the Tottenham Trophy in the long drought is delicately ready after a 1-1 draw against Eintracht Frankfurt during the quarter-final of the Europa League on Thursday. The troubled team of PostCoglou dragged to the first goal of Hugo Ekitike in northern London, but Pedro Porro transported them to the level before half-time. Tottenham posed to the goal of Frankfurt in the second half, but did not find a winner after hitting the woodwork twice. The result means that the Boss of Tottenham, Postoglou, is due to manage a memorable victory in the return match in Germany on April 17 to keep its hopes to win the first Club Trophy since the 2008 League Cup.
“It was disappointing to concede the way we did it. The biggest blow we had was to concede so early. This kind played in their hands,” said Postcoglou.
“But even before that, I thought we controlled the game well. I thought it would bring fruit in the second half and it was in all aspects but goals. I can no longer ask for guys.”
The winner of the tie will face Bodo / Glimt or Lazio in the semi-finals in May, the Norwegian club taking a 2-0 lead in the return match against the Italians.
“Other evening, we leave with a comfortable victory. We have to go. If we repeat this performance, we give ourselves a chance,” said Postcoglou.
“I don’t expect the second game to open, it will be a Cagey affair and it will come down at times.”
Postcoglou struck at the start of the season that he always won a trophy in his second campaign, a statement that made him hostage to fortune throughout Tottenham’s turbulent race.
The Australian has undergone criticism so intense in recent times that he joked for Wednesday that he would still be “gone” at the end of the season, even if he had won the Europa League because his approval rating is so weak with Tottenham supporters.
In a context of demonstrations of constant fans against President Daniel Levy, Tottenham languishes in 14th place in the Premier League, leaving them in danger of their worst arrival since 1993-1994, when they arrived 15th.
Francfurt is third in the Bundesliga table and hopes to return to the Europa League final after winning the tournament in 2022.
Postcoglou relief
According to their respective league posts, Frankfurt started with more confidence and goal.
Ekitike had scored 19 goals and planned for eight assists in 40 matches before Thursday’s match, which made him a man danger of Francfurt and a transfer goal for several English clubs.
But Tottenham did not take into account the warning when the 22 -year -old hit a magnificent style after only six minutes.
James Maddison conceded possession and Francfurt launched a break that culminated with a highlight with ekitike accelerating in front of porro to curl a nice finish in the lower corner of the edge of the area.
Tottenham’s moving response was a welcome boost for Postcoglou while the Brochue Cross of his son Heung-Min has reached Dominic Solanke for a header that was tightened by the Frankfurt goalkeeper Kaua Santos.
If the opening of Ekitike was a catchy moment, the 26th minute level of porro was even more artistic.
Maddison danced through the defense of Frankfurt and reduced his pass to Porro, which produced a sublime film with rear heels which passed in front of Santos from six meters.
Postcoglou had their heads in his hands when Tottenham’s young midfielder Lucas Bergvall whipped a fierce journey against the 25 -meter transverse bar.
It was the start of a sustained pressure fate in the second half of Tottenham.
Santos has made a superb backup of Claw’s curler her before Rodrigo Bentancur’s head of the resulture room which results in the bar.
The focusing at close range of Maddison forced Santos to make another good backup before Micky Van de Ven’s header was brilliantly palmated by the Frankfurt goalkeeper while the first leg ended on a knife edge.
