The superstar Salman Khan should undergo an inspiring physical and emotional transformation for his next film with the director apoorva Lakhia – a powerful war drama based on the shock of Galwan Valley 2020. The film, inspired by the acclaimed book The most intrepid of India 3 By Shiv Aroor and Rahul Singh, sees Salman entering the shoes of Colonel Bikumalla Santosh Babu, the valiant officer of the 16 Bihar Regiment who put life for the nation and has been posthumous the Maha Vir Chakra posthumous.

Revealing details, a well -placed source of the industry informed Bollywood Hungama, “given the high altitude challenges of the shooting in Leh and the physical requirements to portray an army officer decorated like Colonel Bikumalla Santosh Babu, Salman is committed to an intense training regime. The real test is supporting the thinner air, long shots and damaged terrain.
“Salman addresses this role with the greatest sincerity,” continues an initiate of the industry. “It understands the responsibility of portraying someone like Colonel Babu – it is not only a question of doing the right number of physicity; it is a question of honoring an inheritance. It trains not only for the camera, but out of respect for each soldier who serves the nation.”
What makes this project even more important is Salman’s vision on a story imbued with national pride and emotional gravity. By choosing to represent a real hero, he channels his celebrity in the narration that counts.
Currently, Jio Studios is in advanced discussion to join the project as a production partner, ensuring that the film receives the scale and the support it deserves. The shooting begins in July 2025, with a theatrical outing scheduled for the first half of 2026.
