PV Sindhu, Priyanshu Rajawat Lose; Dhruv Kapila-Tanisha Crasto Pair Enters Quarterfinals Of Badminton Asia Championships

The double Olympic medalist PV Sindhu and the promising Priyanshu Rajawat collapsed in the pre-district of their respective events at the badminton championships in Asia on Thursday. Sindhu, 29, ranked 17th in the world, fought hard before lowering 12-21 21-16 16-21 to the world number four and third head of Akane Yamaguchi from Japan in a single female who lasted an hour and six minutes. Kapila and Crasto will then face the fifth seeds Chun Man Tang and Ying Suet Tse of Hong Kong.
But the other pair of double Indian mixeds from Ashith Surya and Amrutha Pramureshshst left after losing 11-21 14-21 against the head of Jiang Zhen Bang and Wei Ya Xin of China.
Later in the day, Hariharan Amsakarunan and Kumar Rethinasabapathi ribbon will face the sixth Malaysian duo of Aaron Chia and Woo Yik Soh in the competition in male double.
