The 38 -year -old Spaniard is a Grand Slam champion at 22 times, with a record of 14 of these titles on the Paris clay. The ceremony will take place on the opening Sunday of the tournament, on May 25, at the Court Philippe-Chatrier, after the matches of the day. The president of the French tennis federation, Gilles Moretton, said about the tribute, quoted by the Olympic Games.com, “It is a love story. I think it is important to speak of a love story because it has a deep respect for the tournament, for Clay, and we have the same respect for the player, for the ambassador he can become for Roland Garros and for the federation.”

The director of the Amelie Mauresmo tournament added that the details of the ceremony will remain a surprise.

“Rafa has, of course, marked the story of Roland Garros in many different ways and his 14 titles may remain unrivaled in a Grand Chelem tournament. He will not play this year at Roland Garros, but he will be very present by our side for this 2025 edition.”, She said Rafa.

The first title of Nadal in Paris occurred in 2005 and his last in 2022. His last appearance at the French Open took place in 2024, where he lost in the first round against Alexander Zverev.
