Victor Osimhen scored to help Galatasaray to win his 25th Turkish League title on Sunday, sending Fenerbahce of Jose Mourinho in second place for the fourth consecutive season. The most successful club in Turkey swept away Kayserispor 3-0 with Osimhen opening the scoring to move at eight points from Fenerbahce with two matches in the Turkish Super Lig. Galatasaray goalkeeper Fernando Muslera marked a late penalty to fill the victory. Since the third match of the season, Galatasaray qualifies for the phase of the Champions League.
They were skillfully helped at their pressure for the title by the 25 goals scored by Osimhen since his arrival on loan from Napoli last September.
The loss of silverware could trigger the departure of Mourinho de Fenerbahce a year before the end of his contract, suggest the local media.
Mourinho’s team was crowned champions last time 11 years ago and was defeated this season by winning none of the four derbies in Istanbul against Galatasaray and Besiktas.
The pressure arrived in Mourinho. After losing in the quarterfinals of the Turkish Cup against Galatasaray last month, he caught the face of their coach, Okan Buruk.
