Last month, news from Saif Ali Khan teaming up with Hansal Mehta for a book adaptation by the author Nilanjana Roy was released after the filmmaker announced. We now learn that the book in question is the best -selling novel of the author “Black River”.

Author Nilanjana Roy herself confirmed the news and revealed the name of the book on Monday with an article on X who said: “It’s official! Delighted (and thank you, Saif and @mehtahansal, for your faith in Black River). ”

Currently in early pre-production, Black river is still in the script development phase, Hansal Mehta working on the refinement of the scenario. The film is expected to start filming by mid-2026.
A mystery of murder at the base, “Black River” explores the themes of love, friendship and sorrow. Located in the fictitious village of Teetarpur near Delhi, the story focuses on the murder of an eight -year -old girl named Munia. The novel, written by Nilanjana Roy, was published in 2022.
Saif Ali Khan, seen for the last time in the film Telugu Devara: Part 1is also attached to Race 4. In the middle of the speculation in progress on the distribution of the whole film, the producer Ramesh Taurani said that only Saif and Sidharth Malhotra are currently in talks because the project is still on the scene of the scripts.
Meanwhile, Saif Ali Khan is preparing for the release of Jewelry thief: robbery beginsin which he plays alongside Jaideep Ahlawat. The film should be presented on Netflix on April 25.
