Guneet Monga had a wonderful conversation with Karan Johar on aspects of production, the reach of Indian films globally and much more. One of his most revolutionary films was The lunch box (2013), starring the late Irrfan Khan, Nawazuddin Siddiqui and Nimrat Kaur. During the film’s release, there were reports of tension between Irrfan and Nawazuddin. Guneet was asked about this aspect.

Guneet Monga did not deny the tensions between the two talented actors. However, she said, “Both have their own working format. I think the tension and love is in the script. And they both embraced it (smile). It was a joy to watch them work. It was one of their best performances. The way Irrfan sir played the role. khadousstrict man but so endearing… that definitely (spilled on the set). Nawaz bhai always had to be the most liked. It was part of his character.
She added: “It was a joy to work with both of them. It was magical. I’m so grateful that we were able to create this film. Baaki on the set dawn compensate Oh (Chalte Rehta Hai)!” She clarified: “It wasn’t something important. It was part of the process. Both are genius actors. We saw them play.
When asked if the argument between them caused him tension, Guneet Monga revealed, “Not even once. We worked so much with Nawaz bhai. We did it. Haramkhor (2017) and many other films. It was our first film with Irrfan sir. Aure independent film my aap kitna khafa ho jaaoge? Paise toh hai nahin (laughs). »
Guneet Monga revealed how Karan Johar contributed not only to the film’s presentation in India, but also in other ways: “He came out and gave us the tagline of the film: Can you fall in love with someone you’ve never met? Then he called me into his office and asked, ‘What do you need?’ “. I said, “A great outing. We’ve done 100 screens and we can do it. I want an output of 500 screens and more.”
