The original Shaktimaan Series was broadcast on Doordarshan from September 13, 1997 to March 27, 2005. Known to promote moral values and social responsibility through the objective of a superhero drama, the program has become one of the most influential Indian television series of its time.
In a recent interview with Ani, Khanna thought about the character’s return and the evolutionary needs of young audiences. “I fulfill my duty, which I started in 1997 and I continued until 2005. I think that my work should reach the public in 2027 because today’s generation is blind. They must be arrested and have said to catch their breath,” he said.
Although this new audio series marks an important renewal of the character, it also follows previous reports of a live film on Shaktimaan, announced in collaboration with Sony Pictures. Speculations had mounted that Ranveer Singh would represent the character holder on the screen, but Khanna had firmly denied such a casting statements.
