Elegant Indian striker Shreyas Iyer on Tuesday won the Prix of the Male player of the CPI month for Mars after playing a stellar role in the triumph of the India Champions Trophy. Iyer finished as the highest record with 243 points at the ODI event to win the honor, overcoming Jacob Duffy’s competition and Rachin Ravira in New Zealand. He received the honor for the second time. He won the prize for the first time in February 2022. Iyer again won the prize after a three -year gap, 1127 days to be precise. With him, the right -handed striker obtained a big record.
1127 days is the longest gap for a player claiming two ICC player’s prizes.
“I am really honored to be appointed player of the male month of the ICC for Mars. This recognition is incredibly special, especially in a month when we have raised the ICC champions trophy – a moment that I will cherish forever,” said Iyer in an ICC version.
“Being able to contribute to the success of India on such a big scene is something of which each cricket player dreams of. I am grateful to my teammates, coaches and support staff for their unwavering support and belief.
“A big thank you also to the fans – your energy and your encouragement take us to every stage.” India has therefore won the consecutive prize, Shubman Gill winning the honor of February.
Iyer helped India progress through the world of the Overs with its masterful racing game and its talent to anchor the sleeves and forge crucial partnerships played a vital role in the direction of its team through a victorious campaign.
The 30 -year -old scored 172 points on three matches in March, with an average of 57.33, with a modest striking rate of 77.47, which included spectacular blows.
Iyer scored 79 out of 98 balls which included 4 four and 2 six in a victory against New Zealand in a group A match A of the Champions Trophy, a round which gave India a competitive total of 250 in the first round on a delicate field.
He scored 45 out of 62 balls to help the victorious pursuit of India over Australia in the semi-finals and finished his tournament with a 48 clinical balls of 62 balls while India sealed the victory over New Zealand during the confrontation of the summit.
