CBFC to ban all beef eating references from all movies henceforth : Bollywood News

In Malayalam cinema, references to beef and beef eating are common. Not anymore. According to an informed source, any reference to beef as a cuisine will be banned by the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC).

CBFC will now ban all references to beef consumption in all films
Recently, a reference to ‘beef biryani’ in Malayalam film Haal was withdrawn by the CBFC. The manufacturers have now taken the matter to court.
But a well-informed source says CBFC’s beef biryani rather than beef is not a one-time thing.
“Malayalam films have, over the years, normalized references to eating beef. It may be a part of normal cuisine in Kerala for a certain section. But for the rest of the county, the cow is a sacred animal in the Hindu religion. References to beef will now be removed from all films,” the source said.
