“We Salute Our Brave Men”: ICC Chairman Jay Shah’s Tribute To Indian Armed Forces

The President of the International Cricket Council (ICC), Jay Shah, expressed his solidarity with the Indian armed forces following their response to Pakistan air strikes on Thursday at the day after operation Sindoor. Evaluating the value and commitment of the Indian forces, Shah praised the soldiers of the country for leaving the fight against terrorism in the midst of tension with Pakistan. “Our armed forces are our pride, and no word is enough to express their value and their commitment to protect our homeland and our people. We salute our brave men and women in the armed forces who protected our nation of terrorism. Unit us to honor our story of hero and build a stronger and more united India. #Jaihind,” Shah wrote on his history.
The legendary spinner of India, Anil Kumble, also echoed Shah’s feelings and praised the “unshakable courage” of the Indian armed forces. “In uncertain times, a truth remains – our armed forces are standing with unshakable courage. Their silent determination is the strongest shield in India. I salute each braveheart that keeps our tomorrow. #Jaihind”, posted Kuble on X.

Pakistan launched air attacks against Jammu on Thursday, as well as several military stations near the western border, but India’s air defense systems managed to thwart these attempts.
Pakistan has tried strikes, involving drones and missiles, sparked power outages and sirens in several areas of Jammu-et-Cachemire, Punjab and Rajasthan. The authorities urged residents to stay inside and vigilant while emergency protocols were activated.
The attacks seem to be in retaliation for Operation Sindoor by the Indian Armed Forces on terrorist infrastructure in Pakistan, hence the attack on tourists from Pahalgam was planned. The terrorists killed 26 tourists-25 Indians and a Nepalese citizen near Pahalgam in Jammu-et-Cachemire.
In the middle of the climbing of the conflict between India and Pakistan, the BCCI suspended the IPL 2025 on Friday with immediate effect, although for a week. The Board of Directors added that the new calendar and the site of the tournament will be announced in time after evaluating the situation.
