This documentary is much more than a simple backstage. It is an autonomous story, highlighting personal journeys, daily difficulties and extraordinary resilience of specially disabled actors who play full roles in the film. Thanks to intimate interviews, observation images and real moments, the documentary aims to celebrate their talents while promoting a deeper understanding of their lived experiences.

What makes this documentary even more unique is that it was produced by several young filmmakers, each bringing their own perspective and their style of narration. These individual segments form an anthology of stories, weaving together to create a unified cinematographic vision. According to a source close to Bollywood Hungama, the documentary is a passionate project for Aamir – the one in which it was closely involved, from conceptualization to the shooting. Known for his meticulous attention to the details, the actor-producer made sure that each story presented was treated with dignity, authenticity and heart. “Aamir did not just want to launch actors with special needs – he wanted the world to know who they really are, beyond the film,” explains a source of industry. “This documentary is his way of doing justice to their stories, both on and off screen.”

While Sitaare Zameen by should be a theatrical version celebrating inclusiveness and imagination, the documentary adds a real impact layer, fill the gap between art and plea. Although Aimir would like to publish the documentary to coincide with the film’s release window, he has not yet finalized a date. Buzz suggests that the documentary could drop from 10 to 15 days after the film will be released in theaters, allowing the public to immerse themselves in cinematographic history before meeting the real heroes behind.
