On Friday, Chennai Super Kings underwent a humiliating defeat of eight titles against Kolkata Knight Riders, while the team led by MS Dhoni, for the first time, lost three consecutive games in their sacred field of Chepauk in their proud Premier League. It was yet another performance of a lamentable stronghold of the fivefold champions, which were completely dismantled by a team from KKR Clinique, displaying their fifth consecutive defeat of the season. With the victory, KKR jumped third in the point table, while CSK remained in the ninth. Nicholas Pooran from Lucknow Super Giant continues to hold the orange cap with a count of 288. Noor Ahmad from CSK, with 12 camarapes, is the largest flaccase holder and holds the purple cap.
The disappointing show came in a match where the legendary Dhoni took care of the team after the regular skipper Ruturaj Gaikwad was excluded from the rest of the IPL due to an injury.
Dhoni has only managed to run on four balls before being dismissed in the 16th, after having fought in the new number.
Invited to beat, a completely disoriented CSK could only manage a meager 103 for nine, their lowest total in Chepauk, while KKR distributed a clinical bowling show.
It was the lowest third of CSK in IPL and the lowest by any team of this edition so far.
Chasing a derisory 104 for a victory, KKR Cantered Home in 10.1 Overs with a Sunil Narine opener making a way to a 44 ball at 18 balls with two four and five.
Captain Ajinkya Rahane also played his role with a solid 20 steps on 17 balls, while Quinton de Kock, the other opener, contributed 23. Rinku Singh is not absent on 15 on 12 balls either.
Narine praised Khaleel Ahmed with a six in the first on herself before Kock did the same for Anshul Kamboj when races came. De Kock then punished Ahmed with two six.
Narine did not spare the former Spinner of India, R Ashwin, hitting him for six and four in fourth.
De Kock fell into the fifth, but Rahane Unique gave no respite to CSK quisters while KKR reached 71 for 1 after PowerPlay Overs.
KKR only needed 33 points after PowerPlay and they lost Narine in the eighth but reached the target without any traction.
Rinku Singh finished the pursuit in style, hitting a six of Ravira Jadeja in the 11th.
Earlier, Narine (3/13) caught three counters, while Harshit Rana and Varun Chakaravarthy obtained two after CSK was invited to beat. Nothing went well for CSK in their field because they could only reach nine limits (4 or 6) throughout the round.
Shivam Dube obtained a score with an unbeaten of 31 out of 29 bullets, while Vijay Shankar made 29 after having lived a charmed life. Only two other CSK strikers have races in two -digit figures.
CSK’s power misfortunes continued when they made 31 for the loss of two counters, the second lower of any six -off team this season. It could have been much lower, but for the 13 points scored in sixth row with consecutive ovens by Shankar off Chakaravarthy.
Moeen Ali withdrew Devon Conway (12) in the fourth, while Rana obtained the Rachin Rachert Window (4) in the fifth. The local team would have been down three during the power game if Narine had not dropped Shankar into the fifth, constantly clinging to a mid-term goalkeeper.
Shankar’s chance was finally exhausted in the 10th as he fled to Moeen, leaving CSK to 61 for 3 to half.
The counters continued to tumble while the Rahul Tripathi in difficulty (22 years old) was clean by Narine, Ravichandran Ashwin was released for a seven ball race and ravaged Jadeja (0) also lasted only two bullets. The local team was 71 for 6 at this stage.
After Deepak Hooda (0) fell into the next one, Dhoni was released with CSK at 72 for 7 in 14.2 Overs.
