Vijender Singh Calls For Greater Foreign Exposure To Boost India’s Boxing Hopes In Los Angeles 28

The Olympic medalist, Vijender Singh, called for a larger international exhibition to Indian boxers to stimulate their hopes for medal for the angles of 2028 while also exhorting fresh and fair elections in the BFI to strengthen its governance. Indian boxers have been absent from international competitions since the Paris Olympic Games, and the national female championships have faced several reports. Meanwhile, the elections of the India boxing federation (BFI) were also delayed.

“The way our country is progressing in sport, I strongly think that Indian boxers must obtain more exposure abroad in competitions from now on to ensure medals at the Los Angeles 2028 Olympics,” wrote Vijender on Wednesday.

“For this, we have to lead fresh and fair elections as soon as possible to build a strong federation. I will be more than happy to contribute my experience if I am given responsibility by our government. @Pmoindia @Mansukhmandviya,” he added.

The mandate of BFI Office-Baser ended on February 3, but the non-exercise of procedures in time has prompted the Indian Olympic Association (IOA) to intervene and to constitute an ad hoc organization.

On Monday, the IOA trained an ad-hoc committee of five members to supervise the sport administration until the elections took place.

The panel is led by the former treasurer of the athletics athletics federation (AFI), Madhukant Pathak and includes long-standing managers of the boxing federation such as Rajesh Bhandari (vice-president), DP Bhatt, Viretra Singh Thakur and the former Asian champion Shiva Thapa, who is the representative of players.

Indian boxing has undergone a disappointing campaign at the Paris Games, returning empty -handed.

Adding to the challenges of sport, the future of boxing in the Olympic program remains uncertain, because the International Olympic Committee (ICC) has suspended the International Boxing Association (IBA) led by Umar Kremlev (IBA).

The WorldWay World boxing strives to recognize the IOC.
