“Unprofessional, Harassment…”: Sunrisers Hyderabad Threaten To Move Out Of Hyderabad

Sunrisers Hyderabad threatened to leave Hyderabad and cannot play their IPL 2025 games at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium, according to a report India time. The 2016 winners allegedly alleged the intimidation and blackmail of the officials of the Hyderabad Cricket Association (HCA) for free tickets. The report added that the director general of the SRH, Srinath TB, wrote a letter to the treasurer of HCA CJ Srinivas Rao where he clearly indicated that the franchise would tolerate such behavior.
“All these non-professional threats and actions of HCA, in particular by the president of the HCA, show that you do not want Sunrisers to play in your stadium. If this is the case, let me know in writing so that we can inform BCCI, the Telangana Govt, and our direction you want to move to another place, and we are going to move”, Srinath of office.
“We have been working with HCA for 12 years. It was only last season that we have faced constant problems and the harassment of HCA,” he added.
SRH has played two games in their place of origin in Hyderabad in IPL 2025 in progress.
“For several years, HCA has been allocated to 50 free tickets (F12A box) as part of the 3,900 free tickets. However, this year, you are claiming the box capacity at only 30 years and requiring 20 additional additional tickets in another mutual box.
“Please note that we pay the right rent for the stadium, and during the IPL mandate, the stadium is under our jurisdiction. But in the last game, you have locked the F3 box, refusing to open it unless 20 additional tickets have been given to you.” He added.
The email also allegedly alleged that it was not the first time that such an incident has been held.
“In addition, we must emphasize that this is not the first case of such intimidation, threats and coercion of HCA to our staff in the past two years. The president of HCA has already published many threats this year, and this has been brought to HCA note,” said mail.
“Given the constant threats, coercion and blackmail of HCA, we suggest that we were going in accordance with the agreement signed between us, according to which we will allocate 10% of additional tickets on each stand. In light of these developments, we officially ask for a meeting with the members of the Apex Council at the first convenience to discuss and solve this problem,” added the mail.
