Veteran filmmaker and actor Rakesh Roshan, father of Bollywood Hrithik Roshan’s star, recently undergone medical procedure for a health problem concerning his neck. The 74 -year -old was admitted to the Kokilaben Dhirubhai Ambani Hospital of Mumbai earlier this week, where doctors carried out angioplasty of the carotid artery – a procedure to restore an appropriate blood flow to the circle by cleaning the arteries blocked in the neck.

According to hospital sources, surgery has succeeded and Roshan is currently being observed in the recovery unit. Angioplasty of the carotid artery is often carried out when fatty deposits block the blood vessels which provide blood to the brain and the head, increasing the risk of stroke. The procedure consists in using a catheter at point of balloon to widen the artery and improve blood circulation, sometimes followed by the placement of a stent to keep the artery open.
His daughter Sunaina Roshan confirmed the news and shared an update on her health in a brief conversation with Amar Ujala Digital. She said, “Yes, Dad had an angioplasty in her neck, but he is fine now. There is nothing to fear. He rests.”
Rakesh Roshan would be stable and responded well to treatment. He should stay in hospital for a few more days as a precaution. The Roshan family has not yet published an official declaration, but those who are close to them have indicated that there is no immediate cause.
Rakesh Roshan had previous health challenges, including a battle with throat cancer at an early stage in 2018, which he successfully overcome. Known to lead successful successes as Karan Arjun, kaho naa … pyaar haiand the Krrish Franchise, Roshan’s health has long been a question of public interest.
