Virat Kohli continues to score new records during the current season in the Indian Premier League (IPL). Star Royal Challengers Star Bengaluru added another pen to his illustrious IPL career. Kohli, who is the main scorer in the history of the IPL and the only player to exceed the brand of 8000 points, became the very first player to reach 1000 limits of the tournament. He arrived at the benchmark in the RCB 2025 match 2025 match against the capitals of Delhi in Minnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru on Thursday.
Speaking of the match, Captain of DC Axar Patel won the draw and chose to play against RCB in his match IPL 2025.
Delhi’s capitals are the only undefeated side that remains in the tournament because they have won each of their three games so far, and are placed second on the points table. RCB is placed third with three victories and a defeat.
While RCB has retained its game XI, the capitals of Delhi brought back Faf du Plessis in place of Samir Rizvi.

Meanwhile, at IPL, the Super Kings of Chennai had a blow on Thursday while the regular skipper Ruturaj Gaikwad was out of the season due to an elbow injury, a development that brought Mahendra Singh Dhoni in the role of leadership. CSK head coach Stephen Fleming has confirmed development.
“We have a non -capped player, MS Dhoni, who will take over as captain for the rest of the IPL,” Fleming in Mediaperson told KKR on Friday.
Dhoni had previously Captain CSK from 2008 to 2023 and won five IPL titles. He presented the captain to Gaikwad before the 2024 season.
Gaikwad suffered when he was hit by a short ball by Jofra Archer on March 30, and since then he played two games.
“He was hit in Guwahati (VS RR). He operated with a quantity of pain. We obtained an x -ray, which was not conclusive, and we had an MRI, which revealed a fracture in his elbow, in the radial neck,” said Fleming.
While Gaikwad played by the pain against the capital of Delhi and the kings of Punjab, the medical team of the CSK could not do its MRI until the swelling calmed down.
“So we are disappointed and felt for him. We appreciate the efforts he went in terms of trying to play, but he will be out of the tournament.” The head coach also said that Gaikwad wanted to “continue” but the call to replace him should be made.
