A mythological horror film by Jio Studios and Devgn Films, Maa marks the terrifying beginning of the actress in the kind of horror and is the most recent chapter in the universe of Shaitaan. The film should be released in theaters on June 27, 2025.

Directed by Chorii Vishal Furia filmmaker, Maa Deeply plunges into a strange story soaked in mythology, ancient curses and spiritual revenge. Kajol plays a ferocious mother who turns into a Kali goddess to protect her child and destroy a demonic curse rooted in blood, betrayal and fear. The trailer, which was unveiled on May 29, offers a haunting visual palette, filled with threatening shadows, frightening rituals and symbols of divine fury. Kajol, seen in intense scenes that radiate both maternal strength and pious rage, brings gravity to a story that mixes mythology and horror in an unique Indian setting. Fans already greet it as a force with which it is necessary to count in this new role defying gender.
Also putting Indraneil Sengupta, Kherin Sharma and Ronit Roy, Maa Seems to be a horror film with a thematic depth – dealing not only with fear, but the emotional weight of sacrifice and devotion. The film is a key element in the Horror Universe of Shaitaan which started with the disaster performance of R Madhavan earlier this year.
