The Rajasthan Royals (RR) Fast-Bowler Sandeep Sharma was excluded for the rest of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 after having undergone a fracture in his finger. The franchise added that its management is actively working on the finalization of its replacement, after an official announcement. Sandeep suffered the injury during RR’s shock against Gujarat Titans (GT), which they won by eight counters at the Sawai Mansingh stadium on Monday. “He showed a huge bravery to continue the bowling alley with this injury in the last match, and everyone at the franchise wishes him a complete and fast recovery,” RR statement said on Thursday.
Although he took the injury, Sandeep finished his fate of four in four, his figures being 1-33. He also had the best saving rate for all Bowler RR that day – 8.25 – while choosing the Washington Sundar window, a versatile off -spin.
In 10 games, Sandeep, which was kept by the franchise last year for 4 INR crores, chose nine counters at an average of 40.11 and an economic rate of 9.89, its main responsibilities being bowling in the middle and death.
For the match against the Indians of Mumbai (Mi) at the Sawai Mansingh stadium on Thursday, RR stuck in the Akash Madhwal stimulator, which makes its debut for the franchise in what is also its first match of the current tournament. Sandeep’s injury also increases RR’s problems, which already have regular Captain Sanju Samson on the sidelines due to a lateral tension injury.
RR also lacks the services of the Wanundu hazaanga legs for the match against Mi due to lightness.
RR is currently in eighth place in the point table with six ten games and must win all their remaining matches to have a chance to enter the playoffs. But it is easier to say than to do against Mi, which is on a sequence of five consecutive victories. A victory for Mi Thursday will help them replace the Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) at the top of the point table.
