Director Amit Golani shared: “Direct Disconnection was an extremely enriching experience. In its heart, the film plunges into the complex and often disturbing relationship between individuals and their growing dependence on the digital world – in particular our growing dependence on smartphones. He explores how over-dependence on our phones has slipped into all aspects of life and how helpless we can feel without them. I aimed to capture this tension in a way that feels both intense and deeply relatible. Babil really embodied his character, giving it life in a way that seems raw and authentic. I could not be more proud of what we have accomplished. With ZEE5 as a global platform, disconnection is about to reach a large audience, and I could not have asked for a better opportunity to share this right story, real and deeply relevant to the world. ”
