One of the most magnificent performances of the Mammootty megastar of Malayalam cinema, and a rare foray into Hindi cinema was the film Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar In 2000. Speaking of this writer in honor of playing Dr. Ambedkar, Mammootty in an interview carried out in 2000, Mammootty said: “It was in English and doubled in Hindi. But yes, we can call it my fourth Hindi film. Man. I could only represent it as I thought.
The actor added: “There were a lot of restrictions to play Dr Ambedkar. As he was a character in real life, very considered, I had to play it correctly. But to play the character at Shafaq (who was titled later Sau jhoot ek sach), I can really let myself go. I have no borders, no limitation of interpretation of the character. I can do it as I like it.
This ambitious biopic has not successfully succeeded. But Mammootty was not discouraged. “This is part of the match,” he said. “My work as an actor is finished on the last day of filming. I cannot interfere in the jobs of others when they take a film. But yes, the film has taken a lot of my time effort and my energy. I should even say my money. I let go of so many projects because of this film.”
The veteran actor added: “But I suppose it was worth it. It is because of Dr Ambedkar that a person as you speak to me. price.”
