Pakistan’s Women Cricket World Cup Qualification An Issue For India And BCCI. Here’s Why

Pakistan reserved its place on Thursday at the CPI 2025 Women’s World Cup. The team managed to seal a place for itself after a complete 67-point victory over Thailand at the Gaddafi stadium in Lahore. Pakistan has now won its four games in the qualification tournament, entering the final round with a perfect record. They became the first team to qualify for the six -nations qualification which also presented Bangladesh, the Antilles, Ireland, Scotland and Thailand. In particular, the two best finishing teams of the event should win tickets for the Cricket World Cup which takes place in India in September-November.
The qualification of Pakistan, however, has increased the logistics challenges of the Board of Control of Cricket in India (BCCI) and the nation as well.
Since the Women’s World Cup should be organized by India this year, Pakistan’s participation means that the BCCI will have to host Pakistan matches outside, in a “neutral place”. Not only for the Indian board of directors, but it is also a challenge for Indian fans because the India VS Pakistan match (games) will be held outside the host nation.
In particular, this neutral place agreement was concluded between the nations after India decided not to go to Pakistan for the Champions 2025 trophy, which was held in February-March this year.
Pakistan was not satisfied with India’s decision, but the International Cricket Council (ICC) managed to obtain both parties in accordance with a balanced verdict last year. The board of directors confirmed that the matches between India and Pakistan in the events of the ICC until 2027 would be played in neutral sites.
The CPI’s decision applied to the Male Champions Trophile Trophy 2025 (led by Pakistan), as well as to upcoming events – the ICC 2025 Women’s Cup World Cup (organized by India) and the Male T20 World Cup ICC (organized by India and Sri Lanka).
It has also been announced that the PCB has received accommodation rights for the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup in 2028, where neutral place provisions will also apply.
Since the Indian male cricket team refused to go to Pakistan during the 2025 male champions trophy. They played all their matches at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium, Dubai. Thus, the teams who had their matches against India had to travel between Pakistan and Dubai, something that the teams confronted in Pakistan during the Women’s Cricket World Cup would be necessary to do.
This also increases management problems for BCCI because the tournament will not be held completely in India and they will have to organize a neutral place for the matches that involve the Pakistani team.
According to Espncricinfo, the Maharaja Yadavindra Singh International Stadium in Mullanpur is expected to host the last match of the 2025 women’s cricket World Cup. Vishakhapatnam, Thiruvananthapuram, Raipur and Indore are the other sites, added the report.
It should be noted that if Pakistan qualifies for the semi-final and the event final, the matches concerned will also have to be moved from India.
