Vaibhav Suryavanshi, 14, Becomes IPL’s Youngest Ever Player; Hits Six On First Ball For RR vs LSG. Watch




Vaibhav Suryavanshi, every 14 years and 23 days, became the youngest player to compete in IPL when he came to Bat for the Royals of Rajasthan against the Super Giants in Lucknow in an IPL 2025 match in Jaipur on Saturday. The left -handed striker even broke a six of the first delivery he faced from Shardul Thakur. He then struck six and four off Avesh Khan in the second. Suryavanshi, the youngest player to register, was sold to the Royals of Rajasthan for Rs 1.10 Core Day 2 of the 2025 IPL mega-sale, Saudi Arabia. RR was involved in an auction war for the player with the Capitals of Delhi, who withdrew after the former Rs of 1.10 RS for the adolescent.

The born in 2011 began to show his cricket talent at the age of 4.

At the age of 9, Vaibhav’s father enrolled him in a cricket academy in the neighboring city of Samastipur. People around him have not taken long to notice that Vaibhav was ahead of his age in terms of cricket talent.

“After practicing for two and a half years, I gave tests under the age of 16 for the Vijay merchant trophy,” said Vaibhav in a conversation with the Times of India. “I was waiting because of my age. By the grace of God, I started to train under Manish Ojha Sir, a former Ranji player. He taught me a lot and whatever I am today, it is because of him.”

Vaibhav was only 12 years old when he played in the Vinoo Mankad trophy for the Bihar, scoring about 400 points in just five games. It didn’t take him long to get into the ranks of the Bahar cricket, turning heads wherever he went.

Vaibhav, who made his debut for the Bihar at the age of 12, quickly made a name for himself in the world of cricket. Its recent achievement, a puffed century 58 balls against the Australian team U-19 in a four-day match in Chennai, solidified its position as a rising star.

Vaibhav was part of the India B U-19 team for a quadrangular series under 19 in Mulapadu, Andhra Pradesh in November 2023.

He also presented in India a team against the Bangladesh and England teams in a tournament that served as a platform for selectors to choose the Indian team for the U-19 ICC 2024 World Cup.

Vaibhav made its first class debut at the Ranji Trophy of Bihar 2023-24 Elite Group B Clash against Mumbai in Patna in January of this year.

At 12 and 284 days old, he became the youngest Indian to make his first class debut since 1986 and the second biggest forever appeared in a Ranji trophy match for the Bihar.

In September of this year, Vaibhav played for the beginnings in India U-19 in a test match for young people against Australia in Chennai. He struck an impressive 62-ball 104 before being exhausted.

The constant performance and dedication of the young talent has now provided him with a place in the U-19 Indian team. An IPL selection may not be too far either.
