Abhishek Nayar’s First Words As He Re-Joins KKR After Sudden BCCI Sacking

The next assignment of Kolkata Knight Riders is against the Titans of Gujarat on Monday at the Gardens of Eden. This match will also mark the return of Abhishek Nayar as an assistant KKR coach. Nayar, who was part of the KKR coach configuration in the previous edition, had left the position after joining Team India as an assistant coach. He was chosen by head coach Gautam Gambir, with Ryan Ten Doedchate as his assistants. However, the BCCI took a strict measure after the debacle of India in the Border-Gavaskar Trophy series against Australia and nayar dismissed from its functions.

Shortly after his dismissal, Nayar returned to KKR as an assistant coach and in a recent video, was seen in interaction with the players.

In a video published by KKR on X (formerly Twitter), Nayar was seen entering the field with the skipper Ajinkya Rahane, when the Cameraperson welcomed it again. “Thank you. I like it. Delighted to be back,” replied Nayar.

Later, the 41-year-old also interacted with the head coach Charakant Pandit and the Rinku Singh striker.

BCCI had dismissed the Nayar support staff, coach T Dilip and the packaging coach Soham Desai following a performance examination in the wake of Indian glow in the test cricket.

India underwent an unprecedented 0-3 laundering at home against New Zealand, followed by a defeat of the 1-3 series-first in a decade-in Australia during the Border-Gavaskar trophy.

Despite the praise of his work with players like Kl Rahul, Rohit Sharma and Shreyas Iyer, his future became uncertain after the BCCI brought Sitanshu Kotak as a striker for the England White-Ball series earlier this year. The BCCI did not publish any official communication, regaining the termination of Nayar.

Speaking of KKR, the reigning champions hope that their unit of striker of conflicts will tighten his act against the Titans of the Gujarat de Table in form.

The Knight Riders underwent an inexplicable collapse in their previous match, being buzzed for 95 while pursuing 112 against the kings of Punjab in Mullanpur, and this collapse was the simple reflection of the global rot which established among their strikers.
