“Don’t Carry Any Baggage From…”: KL Rahul Gets Honest Message From Cheteshwar Pujara After DC’s Win vs LSG

Chetehwar Pujara believes that Kl Rahul has gone from a disappointing last season to Lucknow Super Giants and that the change of mind was not only to flourish in his new IPL franchise, but will also make him a strong asset for the Indian team. Rahul struck his third fifty of the season to take his team Mew Delhi Capitals to a victory commanding in eight counters against his former LSG franchise in Lucknow on Tuesday. “Continue, don’t wear baggage from the past. And it’s a good thing. KL is a mature player. The last two years, he strikes well through the formats,” said Pujara during the expiration period of Espncricinfo.
“He does not want to think about the past and wants to take advantage of his striker and be in his area, rather than thinking about what went wrong when he played for the LSG team.
“It is good to move on, which will also help him play well for DC and even for the Indian team. Because, recently, he is someone on which the Indian team also relies, the way he strikes.” Under the captain of Rahul, LSG had reached the play-offs in 2022 and 2023 seasons. However, Lucknow’s outfit ended seventh last season.
Rahul’s relationship with the owner of the LSG, Sanjiv Goenka, also deteriorated last year. In a video that has become viral on social networks, Goenka was publicly seen in the former Lucknow captain after a defeat.
A few months later, the 33 -year -old man was released by the franchise before the mega auctions.
In DC, the counter striker, one of the most coherent players in IPL, has become the top racing scorer this season, scoring 323 points in seven -rounds.
“Even as a person, he looks much more mature now, he understands his game very well. We have seen a different KL Rahul this season. When he started (against LSG), he did not watch this (fluid), but he always picked it up,” said Pujara.
The former opener of England Nick Knight added that the absence of captain’s responsibilities could also contribute to Rahul’s freedom with the bat.
“The captain can do you funny things – sometimes you prospered it, sometimes it’s a burden. That it has had an impact, not to be a captain now, to be free and to be able to play the situation of the match,” said Knight.
“We have this obsession in cricket that the best player must be captain. This is not always the case, isn’t it? I’m not saying that this is the case with Kl Rahul, nor even Rishabh Pant, but he beats with so much freedom and looks relaxed in the fold.”
