CSK Batting Coach Mike Hussey’s ‘We Are Not Going To Panic’ Remark Ahead Of RCB Clash In IPL 2025

Chennai Super Kings (CSK) can languish at the bottom of the dots of the Indian Premier League (IPL), but the strike trainer Mike Hussey remains calm and assured that there is no “panic in the camp”. On the eve of CSK’s confrontation against the Royals Bengaluru, the former Australian cricket player clearly indicated that although the results did not take place this season, the franchise did not support the panic button. Instead, Hussey estimates that the difficulties of the team resulted in “fine margins” and that there are enough positive points, especially among young players, to suggest a better future.

“We are certainly not going to panic and throw everything just because it did not go well this year,” said Hussey, addressing the press before their next match in Bengaluru. With only four points of 10 games, CSK officially withdrew from the confrontation of the playoffs, but Hussey insists that some tactical improvements could have overturned their fortune.

“We must certainly put away a few areas,” he admitted.

Despite CSK’s position at the bottom of the table, Hussey stressed that the gap between winning and losing was thin in several games.

“I can think about the top of my head, probably three games that they would have won, and they would probably be seated somewhere just near the first four,” he said. “In fact, I don’t think we are too far away.” The key problem, he implied, was not a lack of talent but an inability to finish tight matches.

Hussey remained confident in the current team’s ability to compete with the best. “We have winning players in this programming,” he said, reaffirming faith in CSK’s heart. While the five-time champions were disappointed with an inconsistency and perhaps a little luck, Hussey’s message is clear: the team always has the fire power to challenge any opponent in IPL.

In a difficult season, Hussey underlined young players like Ayush Mhatre and Dewald Brevis as silver liners. Their performances offered an overview of what the future could contain for CSK.

“It is an excellent opportunity for some guys to have the chance to play in IPL. I hope they will be able to seize their chances and consolidate their place in the team for the next few years,” he said. For a franchise known for its support experience, this injection of young people could mark the start of a new era.

With four games to play, Hussey urged the team to focus on pride and the creation of the momentum for next season. “Some victories and a few players who took advantage of their opportunities, it would be fantastic by the end of the season,” he concluded.
