Rohit Sharma announced his retirement from test cricket with immediate effect. The star striker announced the decision on his Instagram history on Wednesday and clearly said he would continue to play only the ODI format. Rohit Sharma had retired from the T20I format after the T20 2024 World Cup. Rohit Sharma put an end to all speculation on his future in the longest format after having faced question points following a bad show in the Gavaskar trophy of the 2024-25 border in Australia.

“Hello everyone, I would just like to share that I retire from the test cricket. It was an absolute honor to represent my country in whites. Thank you for all love and support over the years. I will continue to represent India in ODI format,” Rohit wrote on its Instagram history.

The 38-year-old man was the most prolific test striker in India in the second half of his career, marking 4301 points in 67 tests with 12 hundred and 18 half-century at an average of 40.57. Rohit has a captain of India at the final of the world testing championship against Australia and save the last two indifferent series against New Zealand at home and the Border-Gavaskar series against Australia.
