The reigning champions Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) have signed Shivam Shukla, the Mystery Spinner of Madhya Pradesh, replacing the Antilles Rovman Powell for the rest of IPL 2025, announced the franchise on Sunday. This decision follows confirmation that Powell, as well as Moeen Ali in England, will not come back for the rest of the season due to medical problems. “Rovman is undergoing a procedure,” KKR said in a statement, while season IPL 2025 resumed on Saturday after a brief suspension.
Shukla, 29, has a limited experience at the national level, having played only one season of Syed Mushtaq Ali trophy where he picked up eight counters in as many matches, including a performance of 4-29 against Bengal. He recently made the headlines of the Madhya Pradesh Premier League newspapers, finishing as the best window in the tournament with 10 key cooked, including a five gates transport.
