The implacable rains that struck Mumbai on May 26 did not just disturb daily life – they also stopped filming. Among the affected projects, there is the ambitious romantic drama of Sanjay Leela Bhansali Love and warWho was in production at Film City, Goregaon.

Key outdoor sequence with delayed Ranbir and Vicky
According to a midday report, Bhansali had planned a crucial outdoor scene with Ranbir Kapoor and Vicky Kaushal for Monday afternoon. However, heavy rains and engorgement made it impossible to continue. The scene, described as an intense dramatic moment, required specific lighting conditions which could not be carried out under the covered sky.
“It was a key dramatic sequence that was exposed outside and required specific lighting. But with plowing and unpredictable weather, it has become impossible to go ahead,” quoted the report. “Bhansali Sir did not want to compromise on the visual quality or the safety of the crew.”
Security concerns and logistical obstacles cause cancellation
The unit of more than 500 people was also faced with travel challenges. With local trains disturbed through the city, several crew members residing in the distant suburbs could not reach the set. Concerned about their safety and well-being, the director decided to cancel the shooting for the day.
Challenge planning in the middle of the Star-Star distribution
Love and war Stars Ranbir Kapoor, Alia Bhatt and Vicky Kaushal – a casting combination that naturally rendered tight planning. While Alia Bhatt was not part of this particular sequence, Ranbir and Vicky would have blocked the week for the film. Strong precipitation should continue, Bhansali temporarily suspended the shooting. “Filming is likely to resume later this week after stabilization of the situation. This brief judgment, however, will not disturb the global calendar,” added the source.
Despite this interruption, production should remain on the right track Love and warwhich is planned for an release in March 2026.
