Before the audience sits down to watch the grand Diwali release, Thammathey were treated to a 60-second promotional ad for Shakti Chalini. The film starred Kiara Advani and it was reported that Aneet Padda from Saiyaara (2025), fame has replaced the first. The announcement teaser confirmed the speculations and also revealed that the next Maddock Horror Comedy Universe film will be released on December 24, 2026. In an exclusive interview with Bollywood HungamaAmar Kaushik, the mentor of the universe and also the producer of Munjya (2024) and Thammaopened with this film.

Previously, it was planned to present 2 more Maddock Horror Comedy Universe films, namely Bhediya 2 And Chamundain theaters in 2026. When asked if the plan remains or will be Shakti Chalini will be the only release of Universe next year, Amar Kaushik said, “There might be only one film (of Universe in 2026). We believe that there should not be an overdose and we should not give too many films in a short period. Therefore, for now the plan is to bring only Shakti Chalini next year.”
The promotional announcement did not provide any information on who would direct the film. Will he don the director’s cap or Aditya Sarpotdar, who also directed Munjya And Thamma? Amar replied: “We are still in discussion and have not decided yet. »
When asked how Aneet Padda came on board, he said, “When we were writing the script, we realized that we needed a younger actor. During that time, we saw his film. Saiyaara and I realized that she was a perfect fit for the role of this character. She heard the story and came on board.
When would Shakti Shalini go on floors? Amar said, “Filming will begin in January 2026.”
A horror film for Amar?
Amar Kaushik tried his hand at comedy film (Bala; 2019) but also in horror comedies. Would he like to try his hand at horror next? Amar Kaushik responded enthusiastically, “Yes, I definitely want it. It is my desire to make a horror film in this universe. Lekin public manegi kya? After all, our universe is a horror comedy. Actually doing horror can be easier because you know its tropes like I can create this mood, I can place the camera this way, etc. It’s doable and it would be interesting. In fact, I can visualize it as we speak. But since comedy is an important part of this universe and people expect funny moments, that won’t be possible in this universe.
He added, “However, I can definitely make a horror film outside of that universe. I would love to do a pure horror film with just one character!”
