Over the weekend, several reports suggested that Dhawan left the film due to scheduling conflicts, following Diljit Dosanjh’s departure from the project. A Mid-Day report quoted a source as saying, “Varun was very excited about No entry 2However, date changes after Dosanjh’s departure made things a bit complicated. Now Varun’s dates are locked for Bhediya 2.” The source further added that with the departure of Dhawan and Dosanjh, the team is “back to casting”.

However, setting the record straight, Boney Kapoor said, “We are doing No entry Mein Entryand Varun and Arjun feature heavily in the film. We are in active discussions to lock in our other hero and the rest of the cast.

Earlier in September, Kapoor had confirmed that Diljit Dosanjh was no longer part of the sequel due to date issues. He told NDTV, “Yes, we parted ways in good spirits as the dates did not suit our requirements. I hope we do a Punjabi film together soon.”

Dosanjh’s busy schedule – including his Aura tour across Australia and New Zealand from October 26 to November 13 – is said to conflict with the film’s shooting schedule. The singer-actor has had to juggle several film commitments alongside his world tours, making coordination difficult.

The original NO ENTRANCEdirected by Anees Bazmee and released in 2005, starred Salman Khan, Anil Kapoor, Fardeen Khan, Bipasha Basu, Esha Deol, Lara Dutta and Celina Jaitly. The film became one of the highest-grossing comedies of its time and recently celebrated its 20th anniversary in August 2025.

In 2024, Boney Kapoor and Anees Bazmee officially announced the sequel with a cast of younger stars, promising an updated version of the situational comedy that has become cult.
