“Ghatiya Desh Ne…”: Shikhar Dhawan, Virender Sehwag’s Dig At Pakistan Over Ceasefire Violation

Former Indian cricket players Virender Sehwag and Shikhar Dhawan did not chop the words because they criticized Pakistan following its violation of the cease-fire agreement with India on Saturday. Only a few hours after the two countries have publicly agreed with a truce, several explosions were reported through the international border and the control line (LOC), the Pakistani drones targeting the regions sensitive to Jammu-et-Cachemire, Punjab and Rajasthan. Multiple violations have been reported despite the fact that Pakistan promises a cease-fire. The violation of the promise therefore left furious Indians.

Taking its official handle on X (formerly Twitter), Sehwag has published a scathing message featuring a well -known Hindi Idiom: “Kutte Ki Dum Tedi Ki Tedi Hi Rehti Hai”.

Dhawan, on the other hand, wrote on X: “Ghatiya Desh ne fir apna ghatiyapan paurshi duniya ke aage dikha diya (a country of lower quality has shown his behavior less than the whole world).”

Dicton, commonly used to describe people or entities resistant to change, has been considered a direct excavation to the repeated history of Pakistan to reverser cease-fire commitments. Sehwag is called Multan’s sultan after having marked a triple century in the Pakistani city during one of the most memorable visits in India in the neighboring country.

The violation occurred despite an official ceasefire agreement announced jointly earlier in the day by the two nations. The Minister of Foreign Affairs, Vikram Misri, confirmed that the Directors General of Military Operations (DGMO) on both sides had agreed to cease all hostilities – whether on land, air or sea – with an immediate effect.

The Minister of External Affairs, Dr. S. Jaishankar, also confirmed the ceasefire. “India and Pakistan have made it possible to understand the judgment of dismissal and military action,” he said. “India has always maintained a firm and uncompromising position against terrorism in all its forms and manifestations – and it will continue to do so.”

However, in an astonishing turnaround, explosions rocked Srinagar to the evening, causing a red alert and general breakdowns through Jammu-et-Cachemire. Simultaneously, Indian air defense forces have intercepted and shot down from Pakistani drones in the Pokhran of Rajasthan and Baramulla of Cashmere, in additional climbing.

Tensions between India and Pakistan increased sharply following the terrorist attack in Pahalgam on April 22, which cost the lives of 26 people, mainly tourists. In response to this brutal attack, India launched Operation Sindoor on May 7, targeting and striking nine terrorist bases deep in Pakistan.
