“Had No Confidence…”: Delhi Capitals Star Sameer Rizvi’s Candid Admission After Match-Winning Knock

Sameer Rizvi delivered a breathtaking performance with the bat, breaking an unbeaten 58 out of only 25 balls to guide Delhi’s capital (DC) to a six -checking victory on the Punjab Kings (PBKS) in their Premier League (IPL) 2025 Sawai Mansingh Stadium final on Saturday. By hunning an intimidating target of 207, DC looked under pressure before Rizvi penetrated and turned the game on his head with an intrepid blow filled with clean blows. His sleeves, prevented from three limits and four six-six, earned him the “match player” prize and helped his team cross the finish line in 19.3 Overs.
“It feels good to get the potm,” said Ricevi after the match, quoted by Espncricinfo.
“I worked hard for 2-3 months on my game. I did not trust before I did well, but it came after these sleeves,” he added.
When Rizvi came out for Bat, DC still needed more than 114 points. He took his time to settle before launching a calculated assault on the quisors of Punjab.
“When I entered, we needed more than 120. I took 4-5 bullets, I knew that the counter was good, then I played my blows,” he explained.
The victory, although not enough to take DC in the playoffs, was a solid finish in their campaign and memorable for Rizvi, which was announced as a promising young finisher.
The Punjab Kings have already qualified for the playoffs and are seated in second place with seventeen points.
Ricevi, which entered during the last stages of the Chase, found a competent partner in Tristan Stubbs (18 *), and the duo assured that there was no more hiccups, guiding Delhi to victory with three balls to lose.
