The IPL 2025 eliminatory series is heated while this year’s competition reaches its commercial end. With the match between the Sunrisers Hyderabad and the Delhi capitals abandoned due to the wet outside field, SRH became the third team after the Royals of Rajasthan and the Super Kings of Chennai collapse from the race. However, seven other teams still have the possibility of reaching the top 4 of the competition and although the Royal Challengers Bengaluru are the clear favorites at the moment, the kings of Punjab, the Titans of Gujarat, the Indians of Mumbai and the Capitals of Delhi are engaged in a difficult struggle for the playoffs.
A look at the scenarios of the IPL 2025 qualifiers for the 10 teams –
Royal Challengers Bengaluru – The RCB is the favorites when it comes to securing their place in the IPL 2025 eliminations series. With 16 points on 11 games, the team led by Rajat Patidar needs a single way of potentially reserving its place in the top 4 with two more or less securing victories their place in the Top 2.
Punjab Kings – The victory over Lucknow’s Super Giants on Sunday has enormously increased the opportunities for the PBKs qualifiers and two victories in their next three games will guarantee their place. They can always qualify with a single victory in their remaining matches, but it will depend on the net execution rate and the results of the other teams.
Mumbai Indians – With 6 victories on the trotting, the Mumbai Indians were recently one of the best teams in the tournament. With 14 points out of 11 games, Mi is brilliantly placed in the playoff race and the team managed by Hardya-Pandya can reserve its place in the Top 4 with 2 victories in the 3 remaining games.
Gujarat Titans – GT played only 10 games and with 14 points, they only need 2 wins in their 4 remaining games to reserve their place in the top 4 and take a big step towards their second IPL title.
Capitals de Delhi – The faded match against Sunrisers Hyderabad was a hard blow for DC qualifying dreams, but they can always qualify for the top 4 with at least 2 victories in their 3 remaining games.
Kolkata Knight Riders – The scenario is extremely simple for KKR. Win the three of their remaining matches and this will lead them to 17 points in 14 points. This may also not be sufficient because in this case, their fortune will depend on the NRR and the results of the other sides in the running.
Lucknow Super Giants – LSG has the most difficult road to come, because the victories in their 3 remaining games will bring the total of their points to 16. Their qualification will depend completely on the other results.
