Rishabh Pant’s IPL 2025 campaign was for the least forgettable. He was chosen at the IPL 2025 auction by the Super Giants of Lucknow, belonging to Sanjiv Goenka, for Rs 27 Core – the highest franchise paid for a player in the history of the tournament. But the starkeeper goalkeeper had his poorest IPL of all time because he only scored 135 in 12 games with an average of 12.27. LSG has not even managed to qualify for the IPL 2025 qualifiers.
In the midst of this, a journalist poster On X: “Breaking News: LSG is most likely to publish Rishabh Pant before IPL 2026. LSG Management feels that 27 crore is too much.”
Pant reacted strongly to observation.
“I understand that the false news gives more traction to the content, but do not build everything around it. Little sense and credible news will more rather help make false news with the agenda. Thank you a good day. Let’s be responsible and sensitive what we have published on social networks,” said Pant in response to the position.

The owner of Lucknow Super Giants, Sanjiv Goenka, had great expectations of his franchise, especially after having managed to bring a renowned player like Rishabh Pant to the team. LSG had a mega-enchoole of manufacturing last year who saw them in the striker of a counter goalkeeper for record costs of 27 inr. Despite the possession of a striking unit including best players like Nicholas Pooran, Mitchell Marsh, Aiden Markram, Rishabh Pant, David Miller, etc. The franchise could not finish in the last four.
LSG had a glimmer of hope to reach the KOs, but the defeat against Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) put them in the running. While chatter around the future plans of the franchise, in particular with regard to the Skipper Rishabh Pant, flood social media, the owner Sanjiv Goenka shed his heart, highlighting his learning of the campaign.
“It was a difficult second half of the season, but there is a lot of heart. The spirit, the effort and the moments of excellence give us a lot of things on which two games remain. Let’s play with pride and finish strong. #LSGVSSRH,” wrote Goenka on X (formerly Twitter).
