IPL 2025 – What Makes Gujarat Titans The Best Batting Unit This Season?

It is the time of crisis in 2025 Indian Premier League (IPL) and one of the greatest successes of this season was that of the Titans of Gujarat. The 2022 champions had a prolific race in the tournament and although the rapid bowling was a revelation, it is really their shot unit that was A Cut above the rest of the competition. Sai Sudharsan, Jos Buttler and Shubman Gill were brilliantly consistent – all scores of more than 450 points at a score rate of 150+ in the tournament.
Marking large tracks at the speed of the knots
The Titans have marked more than 180 out of 8 of their 10 rounds this season. They crossed 200 five times – the most for any team of the tournament. The upper order of the Titans was in the form of a drive in the competition and shot all the cylinders. GT has the highest combined combined striking (43.1) this season with a yawning gap between them and number two on this count – the Mumbai Indians – which have an average corresponding average of 35.7. Not only did the titans strikers marked large races in a coherent way, but that did it at a quick pace. Their combined striking rate of 170.5 is again the highest in publishing. The kings of Punjab with a combined rate of 163.3 are at number two.
The titans have adopted a two -part approach with the bat this season – maximize the limits and minimize the points balls. They have the best bullets per limit (four or six) of 4.4 and their percentage of dowry balls at 27.3% is also the lowest this season.
A first -rate performance of the GT top 3
The GT top 3 was in a splendid form and scored three quarters of the team’s races this season. They complimented and shared the loot with their individual contribution ranging from 24.5% to 26.6%. Sai Sudharsan is at the top of the parasites with 504 points in 10 rounds. Jos Buttler is at number 3 on the shopping list this season with 470 points and is followed by Shubman Gill which has a total of 465. It is quite surprising that three of the four highest run-details this season belong to the Titans. Only Suryakumar Yadav, with 475 points, is the non-Titan striker in the Top 4, but he played an additional match in the tournament.
The top 3 of the GT has 15 fifty between them (5 each) with strike rates varying between 154 and 162. Lucknow super-mansions follow with a total of 12 half-century. The average in the combined stick of the top 3 of the titans is 57.6. LSG is again at number two with an average of 39.2. Aiden Markram, Mitchell Marsh and Nicholas Pooran have had a great season for the Super Giants. The fact that Sudharsan, Buttler and Gill exceeded them and that, by a margin, presents the brilliance of the GT superior order with the bat in the competition.
Here is another amazing statistic – the average combined with the stick of the GT top 3 is not only the highest for this season, but it is the highest of any IPL team in any edition of the tournament! A single other team had an average of the stick of first 50 of 50 years and more (the first 3 of the RCB was on average 51.3 in 2016). And just for the record, the top 3 of this RCB team included Virat Kohli, Chris Gayle and Ab de Villiers!
Intensate it in the middle of the Overs
While the TOP 3 of the GT dominated the scoring in the power game with an amazing average of 91.8 this season, they really put the setting in the middle of the Overs. GT has a 165.2 combined striking strike rate between the Overs 7-15 in the tournament, which is not only the best among all the teams for this season, but the highest of ever in this game phase for any IPL team in any edition!
The next list is Kolkata Knight Riders, who had a strike rate of 163 in the middle of the Overs during their victorious campaign last season
Incredible consistency
The GT top 3 was phenomenally coherent in the tournament with one of the Sudharsan, Buttler or Gill marking around fifty in each match for the Titans. The combined failure rate of the GT top 3 in IPL 2025 is only 20% (6 failures combined in 30 rounds), which shows how consistent they were at the top of the command for titans.
Master the pace and the rotation
The Trio of Sudharsan, Gill and Buttler dominated the pace and the rotation this season. While Sudharsan has a rating rate of 152.3 vs rhythm and 157.7 vs spin, Gill scored at a rate of 160 vs rhythm and 165 vs spin. Buttler brought the quick quantities to cleansers to 173.3 per 100 deliveries against them while its tightening rate against the slowest querry is 163.3.
By the way, all three are shiny strikers and have maximized the “traction shot” this season. Gill scored 73 points out of only 30 deliveries by playing the traction while Sudharsan broke 88 points in just 43 deliveries with two layoffs by playing the blow. Buttler launched 82 points out of only 32 deliveries at a rate of 256.3 with two layoffs while playing the traction this season.
