Inter Milan is at the Napoli level at the top of Serie A after Riccardo Orsolini fired Bologna for a last 1-0 victory against the reigning champions. Orsolini kicked the house at the fourth minute of the downtime to bring down the house at the Stadio Renato Dall’ara and move Bologna to fourth. The tight battle of Inter for the Scudetto with Napoli seems likely to descend in the course after an Inter, an Inter was punished with a discreet screen which was strongly contrasting with their fascinating victory in the Champions League against Bayern Munich on Wednesday evening. Simone Inzaghi’s team barely created a chance with nine of the 11 players who started against Bayern Wednesday evening on the field of the Renato Dallara Stadio at the start.
Inter won only one of its last six Serie’s games far from their home and the defeat of Sunday gave Napoli a clear window of opportunity to claim its second league crown in two seasons.
The last five Napoli games are all against the so-rans of the division while next weekend, Inter confronted the Roma, a match which comes after the second stage of its semi-final of the Italian Cup with AC Milan and before their trip to Barcelona in the last four of the Champions League.
Orsolini’s 14th goal of a superb season stimulated Bologna’s hopes to return to the Champions League with fifth place in Juventus behind their confrontation with Parma on Monday evening.
Atalanta, in third, is a point ahead of Bologna and can continue its pressure for a place in the Europe Elite Club competition with a victory at AC Milan later Sunday.
Milan is seated ninth and is six points from European spots after the 1-0 victory in Roma in sixthly against Verona on Saturday evening.
