“Like MS Dhoni And Virat Kohli…”: KKR Captain Ajinkya Rahane Given Enormous ‘Role Model’ Praise

Ottis Gibson, assistant coach of Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR), cited the skipper Ajinkya Rahane as a model of striker for the team, adding that the veteran striker is very equal to pillars like Mrs. Dhoni and Virat Kohli. Until now, Rahane has scored 204 points in six matches at an average of 40.8 and a strike rate of 154.54. Under his direction, KKR is currently in third place in the table of points, after having outlined Chennai Super Kings (CSK) by eight counters at the Ma Chidambaram stadium in Chennai on Friday.
“Very often, when I work with teams and young players, we often look at our models. We often look at another team for someone else, and it could be MS Dhoni, he could (Virat) Kohli.”
“Jinks (Rahane) is a model for everyone here in this dressing room as a paste, and I will tell you why. I think that when we have set up the list every day, Jinks wants 20 minutes, no quieters, a few small flows of bubbles of us and launches the launchers,” said Gibson in a video published by the franchise on Saturday.
He also explained how Rahane radiates calm in the configuration of the KKR. “He never strikes in the air. It is on the ground. Then, when the game begins, he knows what his technique is. His striking rate is greater than 150. He practices what he wants to play every day, and when he beats with us in the middle, he has some confidence and a certain calm when he does his activities.”
“So, for me, it is a model for some of you young guys and young strikers in this locker room. So you should pay attention to the way he does his activities. We should pay attention to the way he does his business,” added Gibson.
The Veteran Off-Spin Bowling All-Rounder Moeen Ali agreed with the evaluation of Gibson, before adding a cheeky rotation. “I really agree with Coach that Jinx is an exceptional model for all strikers. But my model is Sunil (nostril) because it can strike the first ball for six on anyone. ”
KKR, reigning champions, will now have a few days off before taking the kings of Punjab led by Shreyas Iyer to Maharaja Yadavindra Singh International Cricket Stadium in New Chandigarh on April 15.
