Moeen Ali And Meg Lanning Awarded Marylebone Cricket Club’s Honorary Life Membership

The Marylebone Cricket Club (MCC) said Thursday that it had awarded honorary members of life to Moeen Ali and Meg Lanning. The duo, who has announced his retirement from international cricket in the past two years, has agreed to accept the offer of the coveted membership club. The versatile Moeen made its test debut at Lord’s in 2014 and, on the whole, played 68 tests, 138 ODI and 92 T20is for England, Amount 6,678 points and win 366 counters on the three formats. He won the ashes twice, as well as 50 World Cups of 50 and T20 and has a test of testing in his name. Moeen also holds the fastest half-century record in Cricket T20 for England.

“It is an immense honor to be rewarded the honor of membership in the life of MCC. Being listed alongside so many crickets are really humiliating.

On the other hand, Meg made his debut for Australia at 18 and continued to become one of their best strikers during a 13 -year career. She was also captain of Australia to win the 50 World Cup, four T20 World Cups and the gold medal of the Commonwealth Games. She marked 17 centuries in the three formats and skipped Australia in 182 of her 241 appearances, while scoring 8,352 points in international cricket.

“I am delighted to receive honorary members from the life of MCC, to be part of a prestigious club and to follow in the footsteps of a long line of fantastic cricket players, both from Australia and around the world. It is a huge privilege, because it has always been to play at Lord both internationally and nationally, and I am honored to accept the invitation,” said Meg.

With the legendary Bowler Rapide Sir James Anderson presented his membership in the honorary life of Mark Nicholas on the external field of Lord’s, where he played his last test match in July 2024, MCC finished by adding three members to his cohort of life members in the past 12 months. “With the preparation of Lord for his first international action of the new season, it is fantastic to see three other confirmed cricket players as honorary members of the life of the MCC.”

“The list of members of honorary life includes many of the biggest cricket players to have played the game, and the latter cohort is no exception. They made an immeasurable contribution to the game on and off the field, and we are honored to welcome them as members of our club,” concluded Claire Taylor, president of the Crimpet MCC CICUTTEE.
