The Indian AS Rohan Bopanna and the male double campaign of Ben Shelton at Monte Carlo Masters ended in the quarterfinals after losing against Roman Mongasque Arneodo and his partner Manuel Guinard on Friday. The Indo-American duo came back from a whole but lost in the Super Blip with the 6-2, 4-6, 10-7 score. It was the sixth appearance of Bopanna in the quarter-final at the Monte-Carlo Masters, a title he raised in 2017. Bopanna-Shelton joined a 2-6, 7-6 (4), 10-7 victory in the second round against the third head of Simone Bolelli and Andrea Vavassori who presented a Topy-Turvy match match to make the quarters of the finish. After his first round victory over Francisco Cerundolo and Alejandro Tabilo, Bopanna became the oldest player of all time, in single or double, to win a match at ATP Masters 1000 level at the age of 45 and a month.

He broke the previous record held by Canadian legend Daniel Nestor, who was 44 years and 8 months old when he won a match at the 2017 Madrid Masters, ironically, against Bopanna himself, who then joined for Pablo Cuevas.

In simple, the oldest player to win an ATP Masters 1000 level match is Ivo Karlovic in Croatia, who defeated Prajnesh Gunneswaran from India at the age of 40 at Indian Wells in 2019.

Last year, Bopanna entered history by becoming the oldest man in the open era to win a major male double title on Saturday, teaming up with Australian Matthew Ebden to win the Australian Open.

The race has also helped Bopanna to become the oldest world n ° 1 in doubles. In March of last year, Bopanna, in partnership with Ebden, became the oldest champion of ATP Masters 1000 at the Miami Open.
