SCOOP: Tehran expected to release on Zee5 in August; first direct OTT release for John Abraham : Bollywood News
For the past two days, it has been reported that John Abraham-Manushi Chhillar Starrer Teheran will have a direct outing on OTT. The action thriller is supported by Maddock Films, led by the successful producer Dinesh Vijan.

A source told Bollywood Hungama“In all probability, the film should be presented on ZEE5. A lighter image on this front will emerge in a week or 10 days. In addition, reports claim that he will have a release on OTT on August 15. The date is still not locked.
Explaining the reason to publish it directly on a streaming giant, an initiate of the industry revealed: “Teheran is a geopolitical thriller without frills and produced on the lines of an international film. He has an execution time of less than two hours and more, it is not only a film in Hindi. To maintain authenticity, some dialogues are also in Farsi and English. Teheran Make the very first OTT outing for John Abraham. Many actors had jumped on the Ott train, but he had remained so far. However, its production Sardar ka grandson (2021) was released directly on Netflix during the second wave of COVVI-19. He understood Arjun Kapoor, Rakul Preet Singh and Neena Gupta in leading roles with John appearing in a cameo. Teheran Will be his first OTT outing as a full -fledged actor.
Teheran is produced by Arun Gopalan and produced by Dinesh Vijan by Maddock Films and Sandeep Leyzell and Shobhna Yadav by Bake My Cake Films. It is inspired by real events and also features Madhurima Tuli. The geopolitical thriller was shot in 2022 in Glasgow, Mumbai and Delhi.
At one point, Teheran was to be released in the cinemas on January 25, 2023. The plan was abandoned perhaps as the extravagance on a big budget of John, PathaanCo-awith Shah Rukh Khan and Deepika Padukone, also had to arrive the same day. Last year, there were murmurs that Teheran could free itself in May, but according to sources, the plan has never materialized and was quickly abandoned.
