The Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) continue to fight to find the form at home. The franchise lost its third successive match of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 to M Chinnaswamy, the kings of Punjab winning a comfortable victory in a touched rainy match on Friday. While the match ended, Punjab Kings climbed second on the points table while Bengaluru fell to 4th, regretting the underperformance of their strikers during the day. Even the former India cricket player, Virender Sehwag, castigated RCB, calling his striker to “lack common sense” on how to beat.
“RCB struck badly. Spit.
The tastes of Arshdeep Singh, Yuzvendra Chahal, Maco Jansen and Harpreet Brar won two counters each in the match. While Sehwag did not want to remove credit from pbks, he said that RCB strikers threw their counters.
“There is a difference between obtaining counters and winning counters,” he said.
The striker was a problem for the RCB, especially at home, with the team that did not click like a unit. Sehwag has put the responsibility to find a solution on the shoulders of the Rajat Patidar skipper. While Patidar himself was one of the best artists on the team, other strikers around him have not shown the same coherence.
“Patidar must think and find a solution. They have not won at home. Their quisors are doing well, but why do their strikers vacillate regularly? It is not good if your strikers continually fail at home. Who will rectify this?” Sehwag asked.
