The Royal Challengers Bengaluru signed the new-leaning Tim Seifert on Thursday to replace the striker of England Jacob Bethell, who will not be available for the IPL qualifiers due to national commitments. The replacement will be in force from May 24, the BCCI said in a press release. Seifert, which scored 1540 points in 66 T20 for the Blackcaps, only played three games in IPL before and for the last time in the tournament in 2022. He will join RCB for RS Two Crora. “The Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) signed Tim Seifert while Jacob Bethell should leave Tata Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 for England on May 24, 2025 – after the RCB League match against Sunrisers Hyderabad on May 23, 2025 – to join the England team,” added the declaration.

Bethell’s last match with RCB will take place on Friday when they face Sunrisers Hyderabad. Their last championship match will be against Lucknow Super Giants on May 27.

The kings of Punjab, the Titans of Gujarat and the Indians of Mumbai are the other teams to have made qualifiers.

Jos Buttler, who represents the Titans of Gujarat, would also jump the play-offs while they come up against the series at home in England against the Antilles.
