Yashasvi Jaiswal Quits Mumbai, Submits Application To Change Team: Report




One of the brightest talents in Indian cricket, Yashasvi Jaiswal, has decided to make a major change in his career. Jaiswal, who has played for the Mumbai state team for his under 19, would have decided to leave the team and join Goa from the next season. Jaiswal would have written an email at the Mumbai Cricket Association (MCA) in search of a certificate without objections (NOC) to change their cricket state team. Arjun Tendulkar and Siddhesh Lad are some of the other Mumbai cricket players who have changed their team for Goa in the recent past.

Jaiswal recently played for Mumbai during the Ranji 2024-25 trophy campaign after his return from a border-Gavaskar trophy in Australia. The Cricket Control Council in India (BCCI) involved the domestic cricket of the red ball for the stars of Team India, which prompted Jaiswal, Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli, etc. to return to their respective state teams.

But, from the next season, Jaiswal will make the Goa jersey in domestic cricket.

“He asked us a night and quoted that the reason for his move to Goa as personal,” said a source from MCA Indian Express.

“He wants to play for us and we welcome him. He will play for us from next season,” said the secretary of the Goa Cricket Association, Shamba Desai, in PTI.

Jaiswal could well the goa captain when he is not in national service.

“Yes, it can happen,” he replied when he asked him if Jaiswal could be a candidate for the post of captain for the state.

“He plays for the Indian Cricket team so that he can be the captain and we will work in the direction of appointing him. Regarding his availability (for domestic competitions), we must not speak yet,” he added.

Jaiswal had a difficult start in the IPL 2025 campaign in progress for the Royals of Rajasthan. The opening striker scored only 34 points in three games, because the franchise struggled to draw favorable results.

In three matches, RR’s most explosive and promising shoter has only made functions at an average of 11.33, with a typing rate of 106.25 and the best score of 29. So far, he has delivered scores of 1, 29 and 4.

Jaiswal is faced with many problems during the power game since the 2024 IPL, in particular the first three Overs. Since the last IPL, he has been dismissed eight times out of 18 times in the first three letters of a round. This is a 54%dismissal rate. It is up compared to the dismissal rate of 29% in the 2022 and 2023 seasons, the striker breaking 625 points in this last season.

In addition, the 2024 season was a disappointing for Jaiswal because it scored 435 points at an average of 31.07 and a striking rate of almost 156, but it could only mark a century and fifty in the tournament.

It is interesting to note that his percentage of striker shooting fell 70% in the last two seasons compared to the previous two seasons.
