During the weekend, several Brahman organizations met for a joint meeting led by Sarva Brahmin Mahasabha and Pandit Suresh Mishra, who is also the chief boss of Chanakya Sena. The Meeting result in a unified call for action against the moviemaker, with six prominent brahmin groups – included Chanakya Sena, Sarva Brahmin Mahasabha, Brahmin Seva Sangh, Akhil Bharatiya Brahmin Mahasabha, Vishwa Brahmin Parishad, and Akhil Bharatiya Brahmin Reward of RS. 1 Lakh to “anyone blackens the face of Kashyap”.
Pandit Suresh Mishra, speaking to The Indian Expresscondemned the Kashyap Declaration, calling this an insult to an entire community. “Didn’t the Brahmane community have made sacrifices for this country?” He asked, defending the contributions of the Brahmans to the unity and heritage of India.
“The Brahmans who speak of everyone’s well-being and have sacrificed their lives for the country’s unity and integrity.” Mishra has also added: “In such a situation, it is necessary to teach them a lesson. There should be strong opposition to such destructive people in society who make harmful attempts to finish AAPSI SADACHAR (mutual respect) in society. »»
For the context, the controversy broke out after Anurag Kashyap commented on a position concerning the Brahmans, declaring that he “would urine on the Brahmans”. The declaration aroused immediate online criticism and was largely condemned as offensive and inflammatory. In his note of apology published on social networks, Kashyap argued that his words had been released from their context. However, he also reiterated that he apologized for the way the line was taken “and not for his ideological position.
Action requests continue to gain ground, with increasing pressure on the authorities to respond to the situation. For the moment, no legal measure has been confirmed, but the controversy shows no sign of substitution.
