The former Cricket of India Sreesanth refused to comment on his three -year suspension by the Kerala Cricket Association, declaring that he was not aware of the issue. Sreesanth was suspended by the KCA for its alleged false and derogatory statements against the organization concerning the omission of Sanju Samson of the national team for the 2025 champions trophy. Sreesanth had alleged that Samson had been sidelined by the KCA to play for the Kerala team last year and had therefore lacked selection team. The decision was made at the annual meeting of the general organization of KCA on April 30 in Kochi and was shared by the state cricket body via an official declaration on Friday.
When he was contacted by Ians for his comments, Sreesanth remained tight to comment on the question. “I am not aware,” said Sreesanth in response to Ians when he was questioned about his suspension by the Kerala Cricket Association.
Meanwhile, Sreesanth is now awaiting the official communication of the KCA and, according to sources, it will make a legal appeal against the three -year suspension.
This is not the first time that Sreesanth has been traveling problems. The previous body was in 2023 when the commissioner of Legends League Cricket (LLC) served him a legal opinion after his rant on an altercation on the ground with the current head coach of the Indian male team Gautam Gambhir.
His previous problems occurred in his last IPL match for the Royals of Rajasthan against Punjab on May 9, 2013, the season when he was accused of being involved in the fixing of points, which led to his arrest. Although Sreesanth has always maintained his innocence throughout the controversy, he received a life ban with Ankeet Chavan and Ajit Chandila.
The fast launcher then challenged the decision of the Supreme Court, which put aside the ban on life and asked the BCCI to consider a new punishment. The penalty was reduced to a seven -year suspension, which ended in September 2020.
Subsequently, Sreesanth played for the Kerala in the Syed Mushtaq Ali trophy and the Vijay Hazare trophy in 2021. He played his last first class match for the Kerala against Meghalaya during the 2021-22 edition of the Ranji Trophy.
In March 2023, Sreesanth announced his retirement from all forms of cricket.
