Bournemouth Beat Fulham To Boost European Hopes

Antoine Sememeyo struck at the first minute while Bournemouth strengthened his hopes to qualify for the continental competition with a 1-0 first league victory against the other European hopes Fulham on Monday. Stronger Semenyo jumped clinically on an early error by the captain of the Antonee Robinson chalet to win his 10th goal of the season and win the Cherries a first victory in seven championship games. Evanilson got closer to double the advance of the hosts when he struck the woodwork before the men of Andoni Iraola climbed to the eighth – above their opponents and Brighton on the difference in goals.

Ryan SESSENGNE wasted the best of Fulham’s chances of equalizing – heading directly to Kepa Arrizabalaga in the first half.

Bournemouth had taken only two points out of a possible 18 in a spectacular drop in shape since he finished fifth with a 3-1 success in Southampton on February 15.

But they were ahead in a minute against their London opponents.

Alex Scott led the counterattack following a loose pass from Timothy Castagne and, after Robinson’s error, Semenyo was stretched to cut inside Joachim Andersen and wrap the ball in the lower corner to the left.

Evanilson shook the transverse bar at close range in the 16th minute while Fulham also seemed dangerous in the future during an entertaining first half.

Bournemouth boss, Iraola, called on Illia Zabarnyi for Marcos Senesi at halftime and his team almost doubled their lead 10 minutes after restarting, when the legs of goalkeeper Bernd Leno denied Tyler Adams.

The manager of Fulham Silva has brought three changes, bringing Tom Cairney, Adama Traore and Raul Jimenez, with Sessegnon, Sander Berge and Rodrigo Muiz.

The Bournemouth Kepa cap has climbed an effort from Alex Iwobi and comfortably saved from Sasa Lukic while visitors pushed to a leveler.

At the other end, Var judged that Leno made his fingertips in the ball when Evanilson fell into the box in search of a penalty, 10 minutes of time.

The hosts have comfortably kept for a long time to win a late victory – their first at home since he beat Nottingham Forest 5-0 in January – and put their European regrowth on the right track.

“Throughout the season, we crushed and beat the six best teams,” Bournemouth Bustcorer, Semenyo told Sky Sports.

“This small phase that we cross, losing and drawing, each team goes through this, but that is why this victory is so important.

“I have the impression that what we have done this year, we are certainly deserving European places.”
