“High Time Ajinkya Rahane Becomes Selfish”: KKR Skipper Called Out For Match-Changing Blunder

On Tuesday, the Indian Premier League (IPL) witnessed a thriller of all time while the Kings of Punjab (PBKS) outstripped the Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) in a competition with a low score. The Punjab managed to put 111 points on the table on a delicate field which offered a lot to quisors. In response, Kolkata was packed for only 95, losing the 16 -point competition. The dismissal of Rahane, on the bowling of Yuzvendra Chahal, turned out to be the revolutionary point for the Knight Riders, because the team simply did not recover after the skipper defeat.

However, what injured the most injured is the fact that Rahane would have remained on the ground that he had decided to review the decision of LBW by the referee on the field.

Going through the visuals on the screen, it seemed that the captain of Kolkata did not want to do an exam. He shook his head after the referee raised his finger at the Call of Pbks and decided to return to the pavilion. It was even recalled by the unmuffed partner Angkrish Raghuvanshi for a discussion. Even after a conversation with her partner, Rahane decided not to see the call and return to the locker room.

But when the replay appeared on the big screen, it became clear that Rahane had opted for the DRS, he would have survived because the impact of the ball was outside. Seeing Rahane decide not to take a criticism, in the hope of saving him for his teammates who come later, the former India cricket player Mohammad Kaif urged the skipper KKR to be a little more “selfish”.

“Rahane, the man of the team becomes a little selfish. He should realize, he is KKR’s main drummer, he must take the DRS if there are less doubts. #KKRVPBKS,” he tweeted.

After the match, Rahane also admitted that he was blamed himself for the bad decision not to use the DRS for his LBW dismissal.

“Nothing to explain, we have all seen what had happened there. Quite disappointed with the effort. I will take the blame, play the bad blow, even if it was missing. He was not very sure (his conversation with Angkrish after being distributed LBW). He said that it could be the call of the referee. I did not want to try a chance at that time, he was not sure.
