Sharing his point of view on the growing use of AI in music, Ar Rahman spoke to PTI of the need to balance. He recognized that if AI offers fascinating creative possibilities, its application in music should be managed with care, sensitivity and responsibility.
Rahman said: “I don’t know what’s going to be, Belling the Cat. Some songs are so dirty, but they go out with the voices of popular singers. It must be checked because if it is not the case, there will be chaos. ”
He also explained: “There are both good and bad aspects, and good things should be used to empower people who have never had the chance to put their vision in action. But overcoming it in a bad way is bad for us. As you can’t make poison.
The composer had previously responded to concerns about the use of AI to revive the voices of the late singers LAL SALAMclarifying that their families were consulted, gave their consent and have been remunerated for their contributions.
Ar Rahman also responded to singer’s criticism Abhijeet Bhattacharya, where Bhattacharya accused him of having contributed to the decline of live music and relying on technology in his compositions. Abhijeet argued that Rahman’s dependence on technology lack of respect for musicians who play traditional instruments and that the transition to digital music leaves many unemployed instrumentalists.
In response, Rahman defended his use of technology, stressing that it is not a question of replacing live musicians, but rather of improving the process of music creation. He added that he fully supports musicians and considers technology as a tool to explore new creative possibilities in music.
Rahman said to India today in an interview: “It’s nice to blame me for everything. I still love Abhijeet, and I would send him cakes. Besides, it’s his opinion, and there is nothing wrong with having one.”
Rahman shared: “I recently created an orchestra with 60 women in Dubai. They are employed each month and I receive insurance, health services and everything. He also said that computers are just a tool to design unique harmonies, allowing him to explore new sounds. Rahman also added that the producers with whom he worked can attest to many musicians with whom he has collaborated throughout his career.
On the Labor Front, Ar Rahman finds Mani Ratnam for their next major project, Thug life. With Kamal Haasan in mind, the highly anticipated film should be released in theaters through India on June 5.
